This time round I decided to review an interview done by the Editor in chief of Harvard business school talking to Clay Christensen about his book titled How will you measure your life. Asked what the whole idea was all about, Christensen says that there are a number of theories that students should work with to know if they can predict the future, determine what causes what and when. Christensen continues to say that although he has written many articles, this one had a huge impact as he got around 10 emails everyday of people telling him how the book changed their lives for the better.
He explained that the book was all about living a purpose driven life where you are supposed to know how your life will be measured and if there is something bigger than yourself that you can leave in the world to make peoples life’s better. He also emphasized that God is not an accountant and neither does he hire accountants.
When asked whether his book also catered to individuals who do not have faith as his book is all about morality and people awareness, he affirms that he believes that at the end society can become prosperous and peaceful if only people did what they are supposed to do. This however means that there should be a set of rules that should be followed to give people a sense of direction. He finishes off by acknowledging that life is indeed complicated and people need to make a decision once if they are to live an honest life that is full of integrity. This means that they have to be committed 100% of the time.
